EXPLORATION: I
Concept, art direction, full 3D production, editing, sound design.
Exploration: I is the first piece of my Exploration serie.
It is a CGI video artwork exploring the act of surrendering to oneself. I came across an image of a ram whose horns had grown so much that they curved inward, eventually perforating its own skull. Horns that nature itself had given it. There was something painfully poetic in that.
Nature equips us all differently, and sometimes what is given to us, something that is deeply part of who we are, can be also something destined to harm us. A trait, a growth, a protection that quietly turns against its bearer.
The interpretation of the artwork lies in the viewer’s imagination of the years preceding the moment when the horns finally perforate the ram’s skull, and we see it surrendering in near peace. That is where the personal interpretation resides and the true meaning of the artwork, profoundly tied to onself personal experience and vision.
Did the ram notice what was happening? Or did it not? Did it feel the pain and ignore it, learning to live alongside it? Did it try, desperately, to do something about it? Did it remain silent, careful not to make noise around its suffering?
And when the moment finally came, was it met with despair, or with relief?
The white butterfly, a recurring symbol in my work, appears as a presence of peace and healing. It lands not to intervene, but to offer stillness, a quiet gesture toward release.
