KIEHL'S
Full CGI production, creative advisor, execution strategist.
The campaign for Kiehl’s Benelux was a visually striking CGI + FOOH (Fake-Out-of-Home) project, featuring Dutch influencers and generating over 5.5 million views on Instagram.
The concept originated from an AI-enhanced storyboard, designed to deliver a highly engaging visual narrative. My contribution was fundamental during creative production, providing practical solutions to technical and creative challenges encountered during storyboarding, which were successfully implemented in the final sequence.
I was responsible for building the 3D environment, combining custom-sculpted and library assets to create a surreal creamy mountainscape inside the product container. I developed shaders that balanced snow-like textures with the richness of skincare cream, ensuring materials were both realistic and stylized.
I handled all processed of the 3D pipeline, maintaining visual consistency between CGI and live-action elements, and created all environmental effects, animations, transitions, and camera movements, ensuring the visual language remained cohesive and aligned with the brand’s aesthetic. All EXR files and render passes were delivered with optimized layers to streamline the compositor’s workflow.
Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with the producer to align the work with client expectations and production timelines.
The final sequence combined live-action and CGI seamlessly: the video opened with a studio shot of the influencers preparing to ski, which transitioned into a surreal CGI environment; skis raced down a slope that revealed itself as cream, concluding with a zoom-out into a bathroom setting that showcased the full product range.
This project demonstrates my ability to solve complex creative and technical challenges, deliver high-quality 3D environments and animation, and ensure seamless integration with live-action footage, resulting in a visually compelling and commercially successful campaign.
